Our Story

As lifelong boba lovers, my husband Roy and I (Ellie) never missed our weekly boba fix—until we started experiencing digestion issues. Wondering what was in our favorite treat, we took a closer look at the ingredients and were shocked by all the additives and preservatives.

Determined to find a cleaner alternative, we traveled to Taiwan—the birthplace of boba and where Roy grew up. With his background as a PhD chemist and native Taiwanese, Roy dove into the science behind traditional boba and explored how to recreate it with a simpler, cleaner recipe.

That journey led to a breakthrough: a one-ingredient boba made from 100% pure tapioca flour that doesn't require cooking or microwaving. And that’s how True Boba was born. A simpler, healthier way to enjoy the drink we love.
